More happenings...

So, I wanted to post a few of the things that we did this week because I got busy and didn't get a chance to do it earlier. This isn't all of it, but it's everything I got pictures of... This is Raegan at ballet. It was her second week and it is so hard for her to participate because she is so painfully shy. For almost all of the 45 minutes we were there, she stood silently and watched the other girls with tears rolling down her cheeks. It broke my heart because I know how much she loves to dance at home. It was a little easier for her if I stood next to her and took the class also. I only felt a LITTLE SILLY in front of all the other moms. Hopefully, with a little work, she'll be able to break out of her shell. It was so fun this week to get to go out with the three of my girl cousins that are my same age. We have a tradition of going to Olive Garden every year for each of our birthdays and celebrating. We've done it since we were 12 and this year is the big 26! This time it was Sarah's birthday and it was especially sweet since we haven't all been able to make it the last couple of times we've gone. It was a really fun time and I value the friendship and love from each of them. We've seen each other through a lot and love each other more because of it! Karen, Julie, and Sarah, you're the greatest cousins ever! Happy Birthday and congratulations on your engagement, Sarah! Love you!
This is Raegan and Sarah helping out with Father's Day breakfast. Raegan came in and said, "Mom, look at our bacon tongues!" Crazy girls!

What a man, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man!

Happy Father's Day
to the man of my dreams,
my hero,
my other half,
my Mr. Fix-it,
my sanity,
my children's daddy,
my dish washer,
the kid tickler,
the girls' prince charming,
blake's lego builder,
their righteous example,
and my bug. I love you, we love you.
What a Man!
You're one in a million!

Who does this?

So this is how my morning started. "What is that?", you ask. Well, after careful analysis, I have come to one conclusion...POOP! Human? Not sure. But let me tell you, as a mother of three, I know my poop and this is definately it. As I was backing out to take Blake to piano, I noticed this in my rear view. That's right, it is adorning the back window of my beautiful new Aspen that I just got washed on Saturday. So back to the question, who does this? I am hoping that it is just a random act of "kindness" and that I wasn't a targeted enemy. I have been racking my brain all morning trying to think of someone I may have offended. I keep getting stuck on the fact that somebody had to hold this in their hand! And that means that they were really that mad at me that it didn't phase them, or that this offender really is that disgusting! I choose to believe the latter. If it happens again, I will do some re-evaluating, but until then, carry on little poop monster, carry on!

Blake-isms

So as I was reading Karyn's latest updates I was inspired to write a few of the funny things that we hear around our house. I figured it was appropriate to start with Blake since June is his birthday month and he'll be turning five! Can you believe it? My sweet little boy will be off to kindergarten this fall and he even chose to go the full day! His reasoning was that he'll get more recesses and lunch at school...smart you ask? I think so! I as a mother am torn at this new road ahead of us. I distinctly remember the day we brought him home from the hospital and just crying about all of the things this innocent child will experience. At the same time, three kids each day is a challenge and I look forward to the time I will get with my girls. So, back to the funny stuff... We were driving home from the new Bass Pro Shop on Friday and from the back seat Blake says, "Guppy is a spanish word" (Jake and I) "Oh really? What does it mean?" To which he replies without skipping a beat, "eyeball." (?) While he was playing with legos one day..."Mom, I'm building a communicator" This next one happened at our recent Father-Son outing and I heard about it from our Bishop at church the following Sunday because Jake hadn't even heard it either. Our Bishop was waiting in line at the port-a-jon when Blake came stepping out. (If you know Blake, he's VERY small for his age). He said, "BISHOP! Don't go in there! There's a HUGE hole and if you fall in, you'll NEVER get out!" "We learned in primary today (CTR5) that if you make bad choices, it makes Jewzarus happy" (?) My brother's friend once told Blake that he was really good at kicking, to which he replied, "I know, I'm half ninja!" So, where he gets all this, I'll never know, I only hope that it never quits coming. He constantly makes me smile and I love his innocence.

    a week of firsts...

a lot of new things have started happening in our lives lately and it seems like my days are just filling up. for starters, this is my FIRST real blog post because we were able to buy a new computer on saturday and my wonderful husband got it all set up for me. yesterday, blake had his FIRST piano lesson and it was so cute! i had never before seen him be so serious. i was really proud of him. when we were eating breakfast yesterday, he said, "i should eat potatoes because they help you to remember things and i want to know everything for piano!" i have no idea where they pick up on that kind of stuff, but if anyone is going to say it, it will be blake. he is notorious for the funny comments. today, raegan had her FIRST swim lesson and was really stressing over it. she's very nervous about drowning but blake assured her that miss amy would make sure to not let her die (again, i don't know). although she cried the ENTIRE lesson, she was the only student to stay where miss amy put her and not try to runto her mom. at least she was still a great rule follower. raegan also has her FIRST ballet class on thursday and is also very concerned about it. couldn't tell you why, she's just always been a worrier. we'll keep our fingers crossed that all goes well for that one. yesterday i bought 4 plane tickets for my FIRST trip to indianna to visit my sister, emily. it will be my FIRST time to travel on a plane with all 3 kids...alone! what could possibly go wrong? nothing new for sarah this time around, she's just the cutest girl around...enjoy the pictures!
